Sarita Ashok Khandhar

Sarita Ashok Khandhar (Khandhar) graduated from the University of London and began her practice in 2009 upon completion of her pupillage in an established legal firm. Ms Khandhar has appeared at all levels of Malaysian courts, in various areas of law, representing foreign and local corporations and individuals. She regularly conducts trials and hearings at the High Court, Appellate and Apex Courts which contribute to her substantial courtroom experience and advocacy skills. She has vast experience in handling dispute resolutions both in civil and commercial litigation as she is often the lead solicitor or counsel in aforementioned cases.
Ms Khandhar’s main areas of practice include construction, arbitration, electricity theft, trespass, employment & industrial relations, defamation, company disputes and other contractual and tortious disputes.
Recently, she acted for the main contractor in a public enquiry which was convened by the State Government of Penang and approved by the Penang Governor, Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas. The enquiry was to investigate the failure of a section of the ramp leading to the Second Penang Bridge on June 6, making her the youngest lawyer in the entire counsel team. She was also privileged to be appointed to represent a primary transport service provider when it was charged in a landmark decision for failure of maintaining its train tracks and coaches. The aforementioned case was the first in Malaysian legal history to be brought against a train operator by the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD).
For always maintaining an excellent relationship with her clients, she was nominated and commended by the In-House Community for 2018 by Asian – Mena Counsel with the In-house Congress describing her as “just amazing in her work”. She is determined to provide the finest service for her clients and proffer the best solutions to resolve any legal disputes.
Besides her wide knowledge in Litigation, she is also well versed in corporate drafting and has in-depth knowledge and experience in conveyancing and real estate matters. She also regularly advices and handles matters relating to estate administration and will drafting.
She is now the Managing Partner for the Dispute Resolution and Corporate Department of Edorra Arfah Khandhar with Employment & Industrial Relations and Civil Litigation being her main practice.
